It's Friday August 28 and temperatures in San Francisco have reached record highs. It's 96* and we are absolutely melting, wilting, fading, oozing and dripping. Looking forward to a nice refreshing swim we walked to the UCSF health club to rehydrate in their fantastic outdoor pool only to find it closed for a week. The only sensible thing to do then was go get ice cream. We grabbed my mom, and braved the heat and Valencia St. to indulge in fig ice cream and an Indian milkshake which included cloyingly sweet rose syrup, lychee seeds and rice noodles. An interesting treat, but I still prefer the Arcata Scoop.
We leave on Monday for a long flight to Amsterdam and on to Budapest where we will stay in a 19th century building right across the street from the National Museum of Hungary.
And so begins the adventure...check in regularly for photos, stories and updates.
Love to you all.

Hey Kathy and Rocky, I am really looking forward to host you here in Slovakia...;)
ReplyDeleteHey Kathy and Rocky!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting the pictures. The baths, the market, the heat pumps... we're obvioulsy kindred spirits, because you're doing everything that Shail and I would do. :)
Mom is settling in well, and we're painting our bedroom in colors that will make you proud. Tule just stood up for the first time yesterday--it's his big trick now, and I try to applaud every time.
Love you both,
Sean
